Merkava Mk.4 LIC

The Merkava Mk.4 LIC (Low Intensity Conflict) is a modification of the earlier Merkava Mk.4B (Baz), made for urban combats,

In order to prevent previous explosive charges installed onto the tank experience, Mantak the manufactures of the Merkava Mk.4 LIC added with newly designed high-strength metal mesh cover to protect the optics, exhaust ports, and ventilators; in addition to, the Merkava Mk.4 LIC was equipped with improved mine protection,

The Merkava Mk.4 LIC was added with rubber whip pole markers with LED tips and a rear-facing camera, to help navigate communications and maneuverability in urban battles.

Brief Merkava Mk.4 LIC stats:

  • The tank is equipped to protect the crew, with composite layers, featuring the NERA (Non-Explosive Reactive Armor), 259 mm Front Turret Armor, and up to 52 smoke grenades
  • Reverse gearbox, ability to reverse at same max speed of 64 km/h
  • PTWR (Power-to-weight ratio) 22.1 hp/t, weights 68 tons, 1,500 e hp (Engine Horse Power)
  • Gen 2-3 Thermals, NV (Night Vision), Gunner optics zoom to 12x, and Commander up to 14x
  • Main gun is a 2PS (Two-Plane Stabilized) 120 mm IMI MG251 cannon, which has the ability to penetrate over 559 mm of Armor at 2km distance using the M338 APFSDS (Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot)
  • Contains two coaxial mounted machines guns 12.7 mm M2 Browning (same as used in the British tec tree and the spitfires in WW2), and the 7.62 mm FN MAG 60-40, having both allows to fire over 1000 shots/min
  • Contains another 7.62 mm FN MAG 60-40 machine gun (not coaxial)
  • The Merkava series tanks have almost up to 1 m of armor on the turret, using all of the mentioned above

The joke

As the Merkava tank series puts the engine on the FRONT of their tanks to enhance crew protection, yet it has the same REVERSE speed as moving forwards

Also, as the Merkava tank series lack mobility in War Thunder due to being tall and heavy, and having up to 1 METER on ONLY the turret, they tend to depend on having a decent team to support them 7 days a week.
